Learners who are full or part time students within the VET sector (TAFE or secondary school students enrolled at TAFE).

Course outline:

Increase your knowledge of medical terminology within the healthcare sector in areas such as:

• Basic medical terminology
• Hospital units and departments
• Common abbreviations
• People and roles in healthcare settings.
• Calls, codes and signs

This will help demonstrate your ability to recognise and recall simple healthcare terminology in simulated workplace scenarios.

Learning experience:

This microcredential consists of six (6) modules. To successfully complete this microcredential, in these modules you will:

• Compete with your colleagues to learn medical terms in a series of learning games
• Review and respond to a series of healthcare-related scenarios
• Successfully complete a series of quizzes on healthcare terminology.

To achieve this microcrocredential, you will need to successfully complete a short assessment for each module.

You will be provided with a handy terminology quick reference sheet to help you in your role.
